Locksmith in Mississauga, OntarioStrong lock. Stronger frame.
Most forced doors fail at the strike, where two short screws hold a thin plate. We fit reinforced strikes into the framing, heavier deadbolts and rated cylinders, so the door holds as one piece.
For a business, a lock is really a question of who. Who holds a key, who left with one, who needs to get into the stockroom but not the office. We start with that list, then design around it: rekeying, a small master system, or a keypad that can drop a code the day someone leaves. The hardware is the easy part once the who is clear.

High Security Locks
The call
A colleague showed you a video of a lock being opened with a bump key in a few seconds. Then you went home and noticed your own deadbolt is the same style, bought at a hardware store a decade ago.
The lever on the side door droops toward the floor and rattles in your hand. The latch no longer springs back on its own, so the door drifts open behind you unless you pull it shut and check it twice.
The moving truck has left, half the boxes are inside, and the single key the previous owner handed over turns the knob but not the deadbolt. Someone locked it on the way out, and nobody has a key that fits it.
Controlling the keys is the part of high security that costs nothing to understand and everything to ignore. If anyone can copy your key at a kiosk, a strong cylinder is one photocopy from useless. Patented keyways close that door.
You jiggle the key a little and the old deadbolt opens even when the cut does not look quite right. If your worn key can do that, you wonder what a stranger with the right tools could do.
Police have come and gone, the occurrence number is on a sticky note, and you are standing in a cold hallway looking at a splintered frame, wondering how the house gets locked before everyone tries to sleep.
High Security Locks. You jiggle the key a little and the old deadbolt opens even when the cut does not look quite right.
Offices, retail, industrial units and shared buildings all come through this section. The work includes rekeying and master keys, replacing high-traffic hardware, repairing exit devices, and installing keypads or card readers where keys have become a liability.
A safe opening and combination change service is built around confirming who has the right to be inside the safe before any tool touches it. Once that is settled, the locksmith identifies the safe's make, model and lock type, then works…
If The key has to be wiggled just so before the lock gives.
Then A new key cut from the original code.
Copies of copies drift; a code-cut key feels the way the lock did when new.
If You want spares for the kids, the cleaner and the neighbour.
Then Duplicate keys cut properly from a good original.
Good spares turn like the original, and we can mark them by door.
If The front, side and back doors each take a different key.
Then Rekey them all to a single key.
Where the cylinders are the same keyway this is straightforward; where not, matching cylinders are fitted first. Lock Rekeying

Call and describe the door
Describe the property, the hardware and what has changed, and the visit starts from what you have seen.
Step 2 of 5
On our way
We look at the existing lock, the door thickness and the holes already drilled. Sometimes a new cylinder is enough; sometimes the whole lockset has earned its retirement.

About 38% of homes in Mississauga were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.A mix of eras means a mix of bores and backsets. Standard modern sizes on one door, older dimensions on the door across the street. Carrying adapter plates and cylinders in both ranges lets a locksmith fit upgrades cleanly to either.
Single-detached houses make up about 37% of homes in Mississauga (2021 Census). In a building, a lockout happens in a hallway rather than a porch, and the neighbours notice. A locksmith confirms you belong to the suite, opens the door with the least fuss the lock allows, and leaves the door and cylinder intact for the night.
We have just taken over a unit and have no keys for the old locks. Is that a lockout?
It is treated as one, with the same authority check: your new lease and identification settle it. The locksmith opens the previous occupant's locks, then rekeys or replaces them so keys still floating around from the last tenant stop working. It is also the moment to decide how the unit will be keyed: one key for every door, separate keys for the cash office and stockroom, or cores that suit a growing staff.
The key snapped off inside the lock. What happens now?
The broken blade is removed with extractors that grip it and draw it out toward the face, then the cylinder is opened normally. Keys rarely break in a healthy lock, so the cylinder is cleaned, the cam behind it checked for stiffness, and a dry lubricant applied. A new key is cut from the code or from the two pieces rather than from a worn spare, since a tired copy is usually what broke.
Can you also deal with the back door, the roll-up shutter and the gate?
Yes. A business lockout covers every opening the premises relies on: the rear service door with its exit device, a roll-up shutter and its padlock, the compound gate, a mailbox in the lobby and interior doors such as the cash office or server closet. Mention each one when you call so the right padlock shackles, cores and cylinders are in the van, and so cylinders that should share a key are handled together.
What is bumping, and does this stop it?
Bumping uses a specially cut key that is struck while under light turning pressure, bouncing the pins to the shear line for an instant so an ordinary cylinder opens. It works on many standard pin tumblers. A high security cylinder needs its sidebar released by separately positioned finger or rotating pins at the same moment, and a bump key cannot set those, so the plug stays locked. It is one of the clearest advantages of the upgrade.
